Hi; I read somewhere that when feeding floating pellets to goldfish, make sure to sink some so that the fish don't ingest air while eating at the top.

What did that mean? How is air bad for goldfish(are they gonna turn into like a pufferfish.lol)? Does this go to any other fish that eats floating pellets?

Goldfish are prone to swim bladder disorders crippling their ability to swim in a balanced position that is why some people do not recommend floating pellets and I don't either.;)

Oh o.k. thanks.
I can't seem to find any sinking goldfish pellets..any good brands?

Also, what about other fish that take floating foods, are they all right?

thanks. i didn't look at hikari since I have a sinking pellet by hikari and didn't think they made sinking..

oh yeah, you know how the surfae of the water gets oily after feeding pellets..
is that oil toxic to fish?

For logical reasons, it is not.;) If it is, the fish consuming the foods would have died. Surface agitation should keep it out of sight.

It's starting to seem that way, huh? I think he is just really young and doesn't quite understand the ways of the world.
