We just finished a 900-100 gallon pond and we need to put some "greenery" in it. anyone know if floating plants are ok with a bit of current?
Also how well will java fern/moss hold up with a current?

And I know, I know...pics will be put up soon. Just need to remember the camera.

if its outside i would not put java moss in it . just incase it escapes into local waterways.

you can make a wall to stop floating plants .floating in a hoop .
or string those long pool floats together . but if the current is not to strong the plants will settle in a corner and should be fine:)

Go down the street and pickup some water hyacinth & water lettuce (your in Florida, there's aways a pond/lake down the street :D).

Rinse well.

Hyacinth and lettuce love the current. I have mine in the filter and by my falls. If you use a skimmer box, one way to keep them from being sucked into the filter is use fishing line. Tie fishing line (clear mono is what I use) onto two rocks. Find or use rocks that are not round or smooth, because it is hard to tie knots to them. Place one rock on either side of the pond and as the plants move around they can't get by the line. It needs to be fairly taunt to hold them. The line works great because it is virtually invisable, and once the plants start to reproduce(which doesn't take long) they will completely hide any line.
