I was just wondering if this is something i should be worried about. He is still pretty active but not nearly as much when its feeding time. Right now i mainly feed him Cichlid gold. If you can help that would be great thanks.

Floating poo indicates gas in the intestines, try varying the diet, also is the poo slimy or whitish?

not to be to descriptive but there is sections of poo held together by like a whitish see through coating. That is the best i can describe it

This is probably an early hexamita or other protozoal infection, treat with metronidazol. The infection is a common one, esp. among cichlids and discus. Metro is the med of choice for it and it is rare that any side effects occur. If you can't find it locally order from somewhere like www.bigalsonline.com or www.rockymountaindiscus.com
