Common baby snapper cannot swim to the bottom. He tries, but its like he's being pulled back up by a float, like he's swimming with a life jacket on.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Likely respiratory infection if not bloated...give em a basking spot and it usually clears up.

okay thanks for the responses. i haven't been able to find any info any where, so thanks. he's not floating bottom end up, and its been a few days. there's not a reptile vet close.... i'll keep him warmer and keep my fingers crossed.. cheers

Funny, yesterday mine started doing the same thing...first time in 4 years I've seen it. I was quite worried, but today she's fine.

okay, You are going to think I am crazy but just give it a try, it worked for me:
you have to induce your turtle to fart by turning him/ her on their back and then bicycling the legs until you feel or hear it escape. I promise you that it will work if it is indigestion and i learned this technique at a vets office and I am not insane...

Let me know if that works just in case I ever feed too much to my turtle. It sounds funny too
