FLORIDA AND A 65 GALLON

Hey all, I had two floridas about a year ago and they outgrew their 55gallon(the largest tank I had at the time) so I was forced to give them away at about 10''. I miss those gars and I now have a 65 gallon(36''x18''x24) available and I would like to get another florida. Roughly how long could I keep a solitary florida gar in this tank? Thanks in advance

florida gar is gonna outgrow your tank really fast. you can use that 65 gallon as a growout tank but everyone will tell you, upgrade your tank.

Why bother?
If you "loved" those Gars, why get more that will outgrow the 65gallon and get passed on again?

Why not just get a smaller fish that will live in the 65g, or get a big tank that will house the gar for life!

I don't recall using to word "love". Secondly I asked how long they could live in there with the intention of moving them to a 125 I have already set up with 2 11'' senegals. In the future I plan on purchasing a 280gallon.
so any estimates on how long they could stay in the 65? I feed my fish well and provide great filtration as well as a 50% weekly water change and overall good maintenance.

I would wait until you get the 280 to even think about it. I'm sure they could live in a 280 for life but I have two 14" FL's in a 250 and In my opinion they deserve even more. Like 400 gal plus!

since no one wants to help u i will. if u have the 125 good. the 65 will work very well for a nice grow out. you can get maybe 7 months depending of amount of food(which at young sizes it should have 24/7) and what size u buy it.he wont grow larger than 18" quickly but only 36" long i dont like. id say around 14" max is when u should move it over. pref 12" IMO
