I got 5 of these guys out of local canal here in Hollywood, Florida. they are lots of fun. always doing something.
the internet says, they can live in salt to fresh. but i caught mine in fresh water and they are doing fine.

Florida is awesome place for many goby species that could do well in full freshwater settings.
 
they are showing breeding behavior. but i think the larva would need saltwater. anyway. they are in freshwater 75gallon with some other local fish: gambusia, everglade killiefish, and nerite snails. I have also caught another larger gobies specie (they are in there as well), but i cant id them yet.

I also have 4 cory catfish and 2 stiphodon african gobies in there.

Hard to tell from above but the one in the post directly above looks like Eleotris picta.
They have the ability to change colors and patterns at will.

They will hunt in stands of plants, head up, or head pointed down
