florida diet

i brought a florida gar a couple weeks ago and all it eats are feeders nothing else i tried silversides pellets and stuff but he wont take them any suggestions

please do a quick search as this sort of question has been answered thoroughly dozens of times. you'll find plenty of options and techniques in the various threads in this forum.--

Mine hates silversides, pellets and fish fillets but absolutely loves raw shrimp. It rips it out of my hand way faster than it does with feeders.

yea but i had a long nose and he stayed at the top so he snapped at the first thing that hit the surface and my florida stays at the bottom and mid section of the tank

What I did with my Florida was hand feed it live feeders so it built up a trust with me and the started switching out feeders for other foods. I just hold food at the surface and it comes and takes it from my hand.
