Florida Gar banned in UK?

Just spoke to one of my Lfs about ordering florida gars in and they told me they can't it's on the ban list?

Can anyone else confirm this?

Isn't it available on line? In US you can find any law on line. (Of course that doesn't mean it is written so you can understand it)

Where abouts in the UK are you based ? You could try KDC aquatics Manchester they usually have all sorts of gar in stock and deliver nationwide , ive never used them personally but seen there adverts on aquatics classified for years

There's a big difference between getting banned and banned. Getting banned = still legal, at the moment.

Spotted and longnose gars are on the Coldwater species list revision.

The revision affects Schedule II of the DOF 8T tropical fish import licence and means that retailers and wholesalers will no longer be able to import many unusual fish species without obtaining a special coldwater fish import licence and a full health certificate.
