Florida Gar or Red tail barracuda?

im thinking of getting a florida gar and was wondering what kind of tank mate he will be. how big he well get and what habbits these fish have like active or not. i also i was thinking a red tail barracuda and would like the same info on this fish, so if you know anything about these fish and would take the time to tell me or thoughts on the better choice of fish between the two of them let me know. i have to decide tomorrow thanks

agree...my gar murdered my jardini, 3 p-bass, 2 clown loaches, and 1 angel fish that was way bigger than him.

thats why i traded my spotted gar in.

Most Gars like to go after shiny fish even if they can't eat them. I made that mistake once myself. I thought I could keep a 1/2 dozen tinfoil barbs with my gar. They were way too big to eat but that didn't stop my gar from biting off all their tails and killing them.

I think a Florida gar would also outgrow your tank, so even if it was in there by itself it wouldn't work.
