Florida Gar Tank Mates

So I just bought a 150 gallon tank and it came with a Florida Gar about 15 inches. I'm worried that if I put him with my cichlids he might eat them all, because he is so much bigger. He didn't seem aggressive towards the smaller catfish he was with. Also he eats cichlid food and not live food if this helps. I have a firemouth, blood parrot, argentea, honduran red point, and a few others. Let me know what you all think. Thanks
