My LFS just got a fla gar in that is big enough to hold its own in my pred tank, question is anyone see problems occuring in this mix?

-Peacock Bass 4 in (currently growing out a lil more in a friends tank)
-Red Wolf Fish 5 in (Erynthius)
-Ornate Bichir 9 in

The gar itself is about 6-7 in, ive seen gar and ornate bichirs in tanks living fine, never heard about one with a peacock or wolf fish though. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

He's doing fine, I've had people say that but once they hear its a red hi fin and not a hoplias specie they usually say things will be fine. I haven't even had a fin nip yet

Malas and the bigger wolf fish i agree to a certain extent but a red wolf will be fine with this stock.

What size tank is it, if you only have the 60 gal like it says in your sig then no. you shouldn't even have the peacock bass.

bass will often spook gar = broken back or jumping out... neither pleasant. imo not a good combo.. imo the other stock would be fine as well. but the bass.. neh... bass and cichlids imo are some of the worst tank-mates for gar. Otherwise my pool would have some Bass =)

this is only a growout tank, a few people have told me its good for peacock bass to have consecutive size tanks for the size of the bass, the guy who owns the LFS i got them keeps a tank of full sized specimens at his house and has shown me pics. 3 p bass in a 200 gallon tank, no other mates other then a couple large plecos. Im not keeping it in the 60 gal for long, probably only a couple months then the same guy is going to help me build my own 200 gallon. Im going by advice ive gotten here and from him so if this isnt a good plan let me know. He also used growouts and all of them look just fine and act just fine. Im not some d-bag who improperly keeps fish. other then the actual fishing, aquaria is my main hobby. im a fish guy.

thanks for the advice about spooking the gar, i will not opt for it now.

I have a 8" Florida gar in with 2, 7-8" peacock bass,8"redtail catfish,5"red bay snook,6"tiger Oscar and a 4" silver datnoid and I have had no problems the gar is very peaceful and doesn't bother anyone and nobody bothers him.
