Does your Florida Gar show any unique behaviour when he / she is hungry? My Florida Gar would snap his / her jaws at the surface telling me that he / she wants food. Or maybe that's just what he / she does naturally out of hunger, craving to feel those jaws and teeth snapping down a feeder fish.

My Florida Gar is such a pig, he / she makes sure there's food in his / her tummy. I will starve him / her now and then making sure food isn't overly fed. And don't worry with the picture below, that's just him / her showing me that he / she can jump with a full tummy. ;)

heh, Your fish jumps out of its tank and the first thing you think of is, "Stay right there! I'm gonna go get the camera!" lol

Mine snaps at the top.. But thats just breething :) Never for food...

my florida does the same thing. i have had him for over ten years. the first gar i had couldn't get air from the top of the tank because the water was too high, so make sure the water is not filled to the lid. nice looking gar though.
