Florida here! Arowana's legal?

After posting in the general forum I am a little bummed to find out that aro's may be illegal in Florida. Can anyone tell me if this is true or not? If they are legal, does anyone know which kind? Was really thinking of getting one when I go to a larger tank and wanted one with bright colors?

Well that's some relief at least! Are they a peaceful fish? I've seen some tanks with aros and some fish I wouldn't expect to see with them.

Silvers are fairly peaceful, unless they are with fish small enough to fit in the silvers mouth.
