Hello, anyone who lives in florida and knows where to catch smaller florida longnose gar let me know. I am looking to start collecting these sp, but cant locate anything under 4ft!! Im trying to locate them in numbers for you guys on MFK and for my suppliers. I am one of the main sources for florida gars in the fish market, and would like to start collecting the florida longnose too. If you can help me locate them it would be appreciated, thanks John

Never heard the name 'Florida Longnose Gar'. There's the Florida Gar (L. platyrhincus), and the Longnose Gar (L. osseus) with no 'Florida' notation. In Florida, the Longnose gar primarily inhabits coastal rivers, streams, and canals along the Gulf of Mexico on the western side of the state and up through the panhandle.
