Hello ladies and germ, :D

I am planning to drive to FL (24hrs) for a road trip some time this summer. Plan is to go there and fish and have some fun with friends. I would love to bring home some fish from there. maybe some bass and others kool fish.

Would anyone there recommend me where is the best place to fish, what fish, when is the season, etc...and tips and/or suggestion would help.

I would also like to meet up with FL members/Mods

Where in Florida?

that's my question where is a good place to fish in FL?

Lake Seminole in Jackson County is great for bass fishing. Its right passed the AL/FL border so it could be your fish fishing spot. Spring is usaully a pretty good bass time.

If you want unsual interesting fish avoid the lakes. Yes they are great for huge bass and peacock bass but the canals offer the neat cichlids and other unusual fish.

I like the canals before you get to lake okochobee ( spelling might be wrong). You park in picnic area ,etc than just walk the canal area. Stay out of wooded area lots snakes and even small gators hiding in water ditches.

Actually any canals BEFORE you get to area where canal meets mouth of lake is great its just I only know how to get to Okochobee lol but know huge midas and oscars are caught by seminole canals.

This is canal before you get to Okochobee its miles and miles of canals. You use earthworms or wax worms dead or alive matters not and cichlids hit it.

I went this am and though a hike for me its worth it. Summer is great time as the big cichlids are near the shore now you catch small types like this .
