How big are your Lepisosteus platyrhincus/oculatus? I'm just curious as to how old and how big everyones Florida/Spotted Gar are? my largest is around four years old and 18". The main reason i'm asking this is to try and get an idea how large (on average) these fish are in aquaria.

4 of mine are well over 11" may be more than 12" difficult to measure them

11 inches - 1 year old <---- IS Platyrhincus
4 inches - roughly 4 months old (Platyrhincus / oculatus LFS fish)

Mine is probably 14-15", adopted, previous owner had it in a 55G so growth is maybe not optimal. He got it a year ago at around 6" he says so maybe 15-18 months old? I know the LFS he got it from, they sell a ton of locally caught fish (lots of "Florida oscars" etc) so I'm leaning toward it being L. platyrhincus but of course I can't be sure. He seems to still be growing, in girth particularly.
