Florite Substrate - HELP!

Okay so I bought Flourite Substrate from Petsmart and I put it in the tank. I read that it's not neccasary to wash Flourite so I just put it in and added the water. It got all murkey, I figured this was normal and It would go away. I think it starting to go away but after 7 hours its still pretty murkey. Is this normal? Also, there is like floating stuff from the substrate on the surface of the water, should I net that stuff out?

Give it a day or so and see what it looks like

I know this won't help you now but next time you can use a pie plate or regular plate. Let the water fall on the plate instead of the gravel. This will cut down tremendously on the clouding effect.

I did this too, It will settle in about a day and a half. It is good stuff.

2 days now... still cloudy... I should leave the filter on, or let it stay off until the dust settles?
