I'm seeing a lot of aro tanks with floating plants that appear to be artificial. Duse this help aros feel more secure if yes whats the best artificial to get?

I recently started using some floating plants in my aro tanks. It did seem to help with my black aro when I first got her, now there are no floating plants in her tank. With my silver I am using them to try to help keep him from smashing into the top of the tank. Seems to help but I did notice a new scratch on his head the other day.

The plants I used are plastic and were just what I had on hand.

This will keep arowana's from jumping out of your tank for some unknown reason. Duckweed is very good as it populates quickly but don't forgett to throw away some from time to time as they really do over populate, it also shades fish they do not like direct sunlight.

As this may help, I would not rely on this to work. A secure weighted top is a must, and even then your aro may find his way onto the floor.

I use floating plants because it just looks nice and the fish seem to enjoy them. I wouldn't rely on them to keep the arows from jumping out. One swish of the tail is all they need to get some air and sail right out of the tank. It has happened to me 2 times already...once about a week and half ago.

I have a 240g acrylic with a canopy tuff for even a jumpy aro to get out of.aros in the wild seam to hang in the shade and ambush pray and remain hidden from above i just want the best for my aro happy minimizing stress whats the best artificial plant?

if the fish wanted to jump its gonig to jump, no plant is going to stop that.
