Flotsam the snowflake eel

Here are two pictures of the eel that I got with a tank I bought yesterday. His/her name is Flotsam.

Does it look proportional? Skinny or anything? I'm currently keeping it at a little less than 1.012 SG. Are they sexually dimorphic in any way?

I brought it home yesterday, have left the lights off (the tank will not ever have a light on the tank itself, just on the mangroves above the water level.)
It ate today, which is really promising from what I have read, and that they stress easily and will go off feed.

There is one tank mate, a "freshwater" toadfish. I find the eel hanging around the toad almost always, is it maybe because he knows there will be food where the toadfish is?

I would like another one, but it's a 55 gallon-long tank, I think it's already stocked as much as it should be, and I wouldn't wanna spend money on a fish that would probably just get eaten!

that is a shame, I was going to suggest with the eel and the toadfish you should go SW...but if you can't keep them, I wouldn't bother with the investment, as long as you can re-home them when the time comes
