Flourite? Good/ Bad?

Two questions... Is Flourite a good substrate for a planted aquarium? Should you vacuum a planted aquarium?

its ok. personally like eco a little better and there lots of diy options out there. yes you should gravel vac where you dont have plants. the areas you do have plants you dont since you dont want to mess up the root systems. what i just do is move the gravel vac around the top of the substrate kicking the dirt up.

its ok but its ridiculous to wash, go with some eco-complete its clear the second you pour it in basically(dont wash it).

to answer your second question no you shouldn't vaccum it will hurt the roots.

Yeah I had this problem too. I would just do Eco or ADA, both are clear right when you put them in (Basically). I personally don't vacuum the substrate, It stirs everything up and it's just a hassle.
