Have these ‘Otapa’ swordtails in QT for the time being and have noticed that with the two HOBs they are getting pushed down into the water column, making them kind of freak out. So I’ve fashioned some filter baffles to try and reduce that “push down” affect from the HOBs, and put a Fluval Sea Cp2 power head to give them a more natural sort of flow in the tank. As far as I can tell, they look more comfortable with the current from the powerhead vs. the HOB.

But I’m starting to second guess, whether or not this power head might be overkill and if I should’ve gone with the less powerful option? There are plenty of spots for them to get out of the current, but they do get blown to the left of the tank if they don’t swim with at least some effort.

Edit: Just realizing that this thread probably would've made more sense in the N.A. Native section. It'll do lol

Appreciate the reassurance on this guys. Couple days now of observing the fish and reading your guys’ comments. The power head will certainly be staying. It is just a temporary QT until they go into the 75g as dithers for my male convict, but wanted to make sure they’re comfortable, even if it’s just for a few weeks.
