Flower horn acting strange!!!

Hi .. My red dragon flowerhorn around 5 inches is not active as it was when juvenile(2-4INCHES)..its taking pellets but in a strange manner it spit it out after chewing..When it was around 3 inhes it acted mad for the same pellets i dunno the exact reason for the behaviour. The fish is swimming and acts normal..Pls help what would be the reason for its less activeness..by the way its a male FH.Am doing regular water changes.
