Hi,

A friend gave me a Flowerhorn he took from a pond. The fish looks very dark like a Tilapia the first day i held it, with no shade of red color at all. The size is about four (4) inches in length and two (2) inches height. I'm feeding it with guppies and Cichlid Color Enhancer (Pro's Choice).

After two weeks in the tank, the fish becomes lighter in color but no red color at all; looks rather goldish and just the chinese charactes on its side...

Will the red color show eventually? How long does it take for FHs from pond to change its color?

feed him with FH color enhancer...in 2 to 4 weeks you'll see if the color improves...try diff. brands and observe which brand is best for your FH

Krill is a natural color enhancer. Also check your bulb if its a yellowish bulb it wont show the reds as much. I feed my fish krill every day and as a treat frozen silversides.

chingmix maxima and fresh shrimps works best for my FH :) :) :) :) :) :)
