Semi-stupid question. I just purchased 2 juvenille flower horns, does the hump get larger and develop as they grow? I know the color and marking do......

yes humps develop as they grow.
all male flowerhorns some what get a hump.
can you post any pics? how big are they?

As I'm sure you'll find out reading on here, the hump on a Flowerhorn (FH) is called the kok. I don't own a FH, but from reading on here from FH owners, they're very specific on foods they feed their fish for good nutrition, coloration and good kok growth. I'd look into a proper FH diet to achieve proper growth/coloration. Proper filtration and frequent water changes are also a necessity with these fish.

its all in the genetics you its all in getting it from a good breeder with strong genetics the proper food and care also helps the cause

^^ Yes, that is what I use. Very good food for them.

hope they have a good life and their koks get to a reasonable size
cause who wants a fish with a small kok...?

Grand Sumo Super Red and Chingmix is the food most use...you can expect to spend about $30 for them I think

or just use NLS i dont really see what is so special about grand sumo. if you use chingmix just get the headbooster.
