Flower Horn tips!

Good Day fellow fish keeper! i just bought baby flowerhorn about 3 inch. I placed him in a 50 gallon growout tank. I observe that the fh was always at a corner, i feed him xo humpy head but it just bites once and back to the same corner. How long does it takes so that my FH will settle to his new environment.

What are the parameters? Do you have a heater? Mine only took a couple of days max, but it depends on the fish's personality as well.

If you keep temp between 83F~86F and put a bit aquarium salt, within a day or two it will feel like home, unless your water are off the chart then it will take weeks. Most of the time these type of fish species only took around 6 hours in my tank to feel like home after 3 hours drip acclimated method.

it settled now my problem now if it is a male or female cuz the kok aint that big yet.

Looks like a female.

At that size, my FH already had a huge kok...LOL

Some bad gene FL won't have a kok even if its a male, if you bought your FL in LFS than most of the time these FL are were rear kept in the back of the store. You would have to order online from a good reputation vendor or go to the LFS that specialize of selling FL only to get a good quality FL.

flower Horns are a few hybridize fish that look cool. No deformity like the parrot fish.

Just be aware that they can get very aggressive when they mature!
