so cal
anybody successfuly keep oscars and flowerhorns together? I have a pair of small oscars, about 3 inches, and want to ad a pair of small flowerhorns.

If all are grown out together in a large tank, they might tolerate each other, but most likely the FH will kill your oscars

i have kept a 7-8" O with a 5" male flame FH and a 6" female flame FH along with 5x 4-6" cubans , a 7" GT 3x 4-5" jags
haven't seen any torn fins till now and the O is the high command and the gt is the right hand man of the O
i have seen someone keeping a pair of adult Os along with an adult FH and a 9" GT

It will depend on the FH. I had 2 8 inch oscars with 3 FHs which were all smaller. The largest Fh was close to 7 inches. A few scuffles but for the most part all was well. But if the FH gets bigger than the oscars or even close to the same size you better keep an eye on em. By the way right now I have 1 Fh in with the oscars. He is about 5 inches and he can defiantly hold his own. I've seen him chase one of the oscars so be careful.

i have a 1 tiger oscar and 1 fh they live peacefully together.. but then again.. they are both same size LOL sooo iunno

I grew out some red dragon FH and tiger oscars (about 10 FH & 3 o's) a while back from 1". All was well till about the 6" mark then the two dominant males (1FH & 1 O) were fighting alot. Lip locking and such. Well it wasnt too long till the O killed the FH.
