As the title says, or are they selectively bred from other fish that will interbreed? Most Discus in the Hobby today are Hybrids, but of 2 or more colorforms, and going through the whole genetic process to establish a new colorform. This I consider something that can happen in nature. It has for millions of years, it is called evolution. Is this how flowerhorns are bred, only by different species who will interbreed????????? IK that blood Parrots are strip bred, and I personally feel it is wrong. Also you cannot breed Blood Parrots and expect viable offspring, does the same hold true for FH, or do they breed and have very viable offspring?

no different types of discus breeding isnt hybridizing. its just crossbreeding so to speak. taking 2 diffrent types of breeds of fish and crossing it is a hybrid.

sorry i mean taking two diffrent types of breeds such as 2 diffrent angels still belonging to the same family is a crossbreed. taking two diffrent fish from diffrent families is a hybrid.
