My crib
Hi,

Had my 6" female flower pup for a couple of months now and she has acclimated well. Got her nice and fat now but she only eats nightcrawlers. Shows no interest in black worms, silversides, market shrimp, pellets, krill or even feeders.

For those of you with Flowers, have you experienced the same issue?

a few years ago i had a flower that would only eat nightcrawlers. i trained her to market shrimp by tieing the worms through a pc of shrimp.at 6" it may be too small to try yet though.i did a post about it, look undermy screenname and old post and i'm sure you'll find it.

How are you going about getting her on to other foods? I had a ray(not flower), that i struggled with for half a year. What i did was to cut up nightcrawlers in small pieces, put them in a box with whatever youd like your ray to feed on. Let it stay in the fridge overnight, then feeding a littlebit of the nightcrawlers and more of the stuff you choce to put in with the crawlers. The (eks krill) will then smell like NC, and she will go for them, and when she eats the krill you had in with the nc, you start only feeding the krill from the nc box, with some fresh krill. She will be mistaken and eat it eventually ;) can be alot of work, but its rewarding.

Thanks fellas. Didn't know if Flowers were known to be pickier than other rays?

I'll keep working on tricking her.

Keep us posted :) They are a little picky, but as ive read around, when they come around, they come around :) But they have small mouths, so you should feed small pieces.

I wouldnt worry too much. i usually wait to introduce new foods until they are 8 inches or so. they take to new foods better when older. Would love to see updates
