Are flowerhorns very aggressive or are they good with other tank mates

It is dependant on the fish but they normally are very aggressive in general towards tank mates.

Flowerhorns will tolerate things when they are small but when they reach a certain size and become the dominant fish they usually kill or try to kill everything. The can even kill each other when they are trying to breed. Not a good idea to put them with tank mates. It will work for a while but then you'll be stuck with a terror of a fish and nowhere to put him. This is why you tend to see a lot of large flowerhorn's at the lfs. People buy them small and then can't handle them anymore so they sell them back to the store.

Still new to this trying to learn as much as I can lol

That's what MFK is for. A lot of knowledge and information on this site. If you want a flowerhorn grow him out in a 75 or 90 gallon by himself. Or you could by a couple and keep the best one out of the group and sell the others.

Get the best looking juvi you can find and stick him in a tank all by himself. I have some that will tolerate bristlenose plecos but otherwise no tankmates.
