I have a couple java fern in a flowerhorn tank just to help keep nitrates down inbetween water changes. I do 30% twice a week. Still it will get to 40ppm inbetween. Can I add duckweed or some other type of floating plant? They love to move the java fern around lol so I was thinking maybe a plant on the surface might fair better.
