Hello all!
So, I've been keeping fish for 10 years now but unfortunately have a terrible character flaw, which is that I'm impatient.
I had a peacock bass and an oscar in my 125g. I sold off both (for obvious reasons) and wanted to get into the flowerhorn game. The problem is I didn't realize Flowerhorns were stupid aggressive..
The peacock bass was out of the tank and rehomed but I still had my oscar. So last saturday (the day before the oscar was being picked up) I went to the LFS and saw a beautiful flowerhorn for a great price. Being the impulsive idiot that I am I bought it and brought it home. The flowerhorn took to fighting the oscar ASAP!! I didn't realize how bad it got until the next day. The oscar figured out that the flowerhorn couldn't really defend his fat head. So the flowerhorn is on his own now (with some snails and a crayfish) and his head seems to have started healing (he's essentially been alone since Sunday). The scales on his head are growing back slowly, i've done a couple of WCs and added some Melafix to help with the healing.
Is there anything else I should be doing to help him heal (he's eating no problem). Are there more efficient ways to help him heal vs what I'm doing?
Thanks for your advice, and yes I know, I'm an impatient idiot...
