I thought my beloved flowerhorn was a goner. I came back from vacation and he had a wicked case of ick. Worst i've seen, looked like he had been salted! He wasn't eating. I bombed him with ick-away for a week and he has recovered to his old glory....these photos are post-ick.

flowerhorns are strong hardy fish. my friends flowerhorn survived a ugly case of ick, i couldn't believe it was still alive when i saw it. 3 days after ick treatment. flawless. congrats on takin proper action and saving a wonderful fish.
 
ich sucks. I had the same and thought i was going to loose a real young delicate pleco, but somehow its pulled through well. Kept it well fed and caught it in time i guess. You raise the temp too. I always keep meding for 2 weeks, just to make sure, i know it reoccurs sometimes
 
good job on the rehab that would be a sad story to hear if you lost him
 
Thanks..... he's a little over a year old...... and still getting bigger. I feed him frozen shrimp, freeze dried krill, feeders every now and then and cichlid gold. I got him trained to eat out of my hand too, it's fun to feed him.
