I don't know what the deal is, i've had him for about 6 months. When he was smaller he would come greet me for feedings, follow my finger across the glass etc. For the past month or so he has been in a 55 with a group of small Silver dollars, things were normal at first but after a few weeks he started hiding whenever i approached the tank. Ive since setup a 40gal breeder for him hoping that this would change his skittish habbits, however it seems worse. Any suggestions to make him more soical and less scared? BTW he is a 4.5-5inch ZZ male.

Sudden changes can be caused by behaviors of other fishes. For example, your sd's being skittish can influence your fh to be as well. Dude don't even worry about your fh. It will grow out of it. I have fishes are extremely skittish which at times drive you nuts but sooner or later they become adjusted and comfortable with the keeper.
