ello, my Flowerhorn is 1 y/o and lives in a 75 gallon tank by himself. I recently moved houses and had to put my 2 Oscar’s and my flower horn in the same tank and put a divider in between the Oscar’s and flowerhorn. They were all in there for 1 month and then the Oscar’s finally were moved into their 75 gallon tank. The flower horn has been bloated for about a week now and I have no ideas why. The tanks parameters are perfect. Ammonia is below the requirement, nitrate and nitrite are also below the requirement, ph is a little higher than I’d like but I use well water so it’s a constant 8 ph. I feed him flower horn pellets from Taiwan and according to people on their website and YouTube the food is high quality, high protein, with vitamins and he loves to eat it. He has not stopped eating as he eats the 12 pellets I put in 2 times a day for the past year. I have been feeding him the pellets with MetroPlex, focus, and General Cure all mixed in the pellets since he’s been bloated and he eats them, yet I see no difference in his swelling. I then put unfrozen blood worms with the MetroPlez, focus, and General Cure the next day, and still see no difference in his swelling. He refuses to eat peas as I’ve tried numerous times. Boil , peel , feed, spit out… Tonight I’m putting him in my hospital tank and will do a heavy Epsom salt bath to see if that helps.

anything else I should know?? I’ll post pictures when I get home from work.

Sound like dropsy, I need you to look from top to confirm this, if scales are poking out from sides it is dropsy unfortunately dropsy is usally fatal and is caused by an internal infection/ kidney failure (pineconing is the correct term for scales sticking out, if it is happening it is likely to late)
