Have you tested your water?
Yes
If I did not test my water...

Do you do water changes?

Hi guys, im new here.
I've had my Flowerhorn 7months now, I got him from a seller at around 6months old.
Last month I noticed he didn't look great, hiding , not eating, I noticed some grey marks on his face and kok ...and breathing heavily
I went straight to the LFS which near me are all Maidenheads...and brought Aquacare general tonic, and anti internal bacteria , got home did a 50l water change and added the treatment.
3 days later my Flowerhorn was looking 70% better , moving about and hungry....but his belly looked huge and still breathing heavily
So I contacted the guy who sold me the fish and he recommended I do a 100l water change and add tonic salt, but only feed once a day light food like frozen blood worm or de shelled peas....which I did and my Flowerhorn still looked good but the belly is still huge.
2 weeks later after another 100l water change I updated the guy and he contacted a Flowerhorn breeder and it was suggested that he must have worms and to try octozin...so I brought a bottle and treated as required for 3 days and then left for another 3 days as it states its still active then another 100l water change and I also started up my reactor that has which as carbon and rowaphos.
And to be fair the heavy breathing has calmed a bit but the belly is still bloated....im still only feeding once a day and it seems when I feed him....afterwards the heavy breathing starts which makes me thinkits causing pain...so today I've stopped feeding and will continue for 3 days to see if it helps.
Do you guys have any suggestions or gone though similar

My set up is a old reef tank 300l and sump.
The sump has 4 kg of maxspec bioballs stacked, maxspect anaerobic block, 5kg of plant media and loads of plants, snails and shrimps and a few guppies that need trimming weekly, nitrates is between 10-20ppm
