Flowerhorn breeding advice

My flowerhorns im trying to pair and im having to seperate the male from chasing the female with a divider more often. Ive been doing 10-20% water changes every 3-4 days and recently did a 65% waterchange. I have a 9inch terracotta dish on the female side of the tank. Any tips or help to try and get them to pair or should I just keep waiting.

I would give them time! If she's fleeing from the male. It's either she's not ready or both ways it's a failed connection. Keep them divide and occasionally feed high protein foods to see if that helps. If they swim up against the divider and can tolerate each other. I'd say that would be a good sign.
