Hey everyone I am having problems with breeding my flowerhorns. I have a few questions. What color are the eggs suppose to be when they are laid? How long does it take for the eggs to get black dots? When do the eggs hatch if they are fertilized. Pics will be much appreciated. Thanks for looking at my post.

After they breed wait a couple of days if the eggs turn white then they are not fertile, if they don't then you will see little black dots inside the egg, the parents will eat the white eggs, that's the simplest answer

You will know for sure at about 48 hours. If they are turning white then no good.
Good luck to you.

when are male red dragon flowerhorns fertile? My male is 6-7 inch and it goes through the motion of fertilizing the eggs, but the eggs aren't fertilized. Does this mean it is infertile or do I just have to wait for it to get a little bigger

Are there any specific tank requirements like a specific ph,nitrate, ammonia, or nitrite level or temperature? Thanks for all of the replies so far.
