Hello people,

I'm new to the site, well I used to be a member a couple years ago. Anyways, I have been keeping and raising fish for a long time now. But in this last year I have aquired quite a few tanks. As of now I have about ten that are unoccupied. I'm thinking about trying to breed some flowerhorns. But this is unfortunately a fish that I have never kept. So I would appreciate some advice and a little know-how. Anything will help! Thanks guys.

IM STRUGGLING ABOUT IT RIGHT NOW, BUT TO START OUT, U NEED A MALE AND A FEMALE. SOUNDS EASY ENUFF. I USE A SARGER MALE THAN FEMALE BECAUSE THE FEMALES GET REALLY NASTY AROUND THE EGGS AFTER THEY ARE LAID. I USE A 1/3 WATER CHANGE TO GET THE WHOLE ACT STARTED, BUT THE TELLING OF THE MALE AND FEMALE IS THE HARDEST PART. :naughty:

you were a member a couple of years ago? I don't think this site was here a couple of years ago...I may be wrong but somethings fishy....

actually its pretty easy to tell between female and male all of my flowerhorns I have had in the past were easy. 1/3 of a water change is a good Idea I usually do a 10 percent water change and rearrange the tank.

:welcome: to the site!!!
Keep us up to par with the whole mating shbang!Post some pics of your fish!
I'm sure some of our fish masters will be able to sex them...
I heart hybrids!!!

Thats funny I new someone would have somthing smart-ass to say! I ment that I was a member of Predatoryfish.net. I thought that the name had just been changed, because if you try and go to that sit. You end up here! ALSO I recognize many of the same members. So what ever for the mix up.
Thank you all for the information that you gave! Hope it all go'es well.
