flowerhorn breeding ?

my 5" female and 7-8" male have cleared all gravel around divider and female has dropped tube. i pulled divider and they locked jaws and did minor fin damage for a half hour or so.
now they are kind of following each other although she seems tentative when he comes by.
should i leave them togeher until she is obviously running scaired or injured
and is this somewhat excessive jaw locking ok

it is normal but 1 should give up. if no one gives up this means they will never spawn they will only fight till death
