flowerhorn breeding

Hey everybody, im new to flowerhorn breeding and i just had a couple questions.

I have a 5inch red dragon fh and a 5 inch female red dragon in a 75gal tank together. They get along and enjoy eachothers company but for the last week the male has been digging a hole in the gravel in the rear left hand corner. I knew that it was a sign of starting to breed so i looked online and read about what i would have to do and some tips for breeding. He has been digging this hole for about a week now and its probably about 8 inches around and he is down to the glass. My female is also getting really dark in color. My questions are: How long does this usually take before they start spawning? and My tank hasnt been cleaned in about two weeks now and its starting to get cloudy, so should i clean it? I havent cleaned it on purpose because i didnt want to disturb anything. Any tips and tricks anyone can give me? I love the fish and would really like to take care of fry. Thank You

My questions are:

The pair should start spawning within two weeks......

Do one 50% water changes every week........

I havent cleaned it on purpose because i didnt want to disturb anything. Any tips and tricks anyone can give me?
50% water change every week is the best....Squeeze the sponges inside the filter once a month......

What type of filter do you own?????????????

Its a magnum 350 canister in the tank that they are in now.
