Flowerhorn courting question

How does flowerhorn courting look like? Im trying to pair off my two FH's, but they are always on and off if you know what i mean. They get along n then the male Chases her off. Is lip-locking necessary in courting? cause the female isnt brave enough when the male approaches her. I might just get an older female.

works wonders! good luck trying to find a fertile hybrid male. took me 3 before i got fry. dont give up on the fem change out males imo

they are both zzrd's, the male being a higher grade. I might get a slightly larger fader female.

I probably shouldnt think big yet, as im still a novice in breeding. Any specific changes i have to make to the tank before they lay eggs? temp is at 29d.Celsius 0ppm on everything ph 7.1. What type of filter should i get, i dont want to lose any fry. Let me add that they are a very young pair female 4 inches, male is a solid 5 incher.

most would use just a sponge filter or get a prefiter for you HOB or cantister filter
