Flowerhorn Cross

Hi. I picked up 5 fish from a lfs a couple weeks ago that were labelled "Flowerhorn Cross". None of the staff knew what they were crossed with, someone had basically dumped them there. The pics are of the dominant one that has outgrown the rest and is now about 2". I really don't know what to think of him but he looks like he is already developing a bit of a hump. I apologize for the crappy phone pics. Comments?

You got me stumped maybe a texas cross.Looks like a 2 way cross not a flowerhorn but you never no good luck hope they turn out nice.

looks very nice.. Not your everyday strain of flowerhorn. You should be proud you've got a very nice fish. Looks like it could have some umbie blood in it.

thats what i was thinking-maybe umbie or hmmmmmm..............I was thinking dovi maybe too but its head is elongated too much

It was probably crossed with a Vieja synspilum. Not sure though.

i had adovi once not sure either very nice looks a tiny bit like salvini also

That thing has a boxy head.

I got him from aquarium illusions in edmonton, out of the 5 of them no two look alike.

i think people put the "cross" on the backside to remind people they are hybrids.
