flowerhorn digging

i was wondering my flowerhorns just started digging i mean pushing all the sand in the tank up in a corner half way up the tank. i have never seen digging to this degree i try to fix the sand and move the tank back but they do it all over again. will they keep doing this? there as bad as oscars with plants i have to keep a bare tank for my oscar lol.

i just bought 1 male flowerhorn and i have already 1 male as well and is separated by a crystal divider last night they were fighting but now they're both digging the pebbles. maybe 1 is a girl?
