I recently bought my flowerhorn about two months ago, he is very active in his tank and is eating a lot. However recently he started to get these circles on his body. I contacted the seller who is breeding high end kamfa’s for competition and he says nothing is wrong. But that I should keep an eye on it, and that I potentially could use Japanese yellow medicine that is usually used to treat gold fish and koi. I have searched on the forum and online and I have not found an answer as to what it is. The fading pictures I’ve found usually shows the entire fish getting dark when it is fading. I wonder if it’s an issue with the enhancer food? And the pigments in the skin? However this is only an assumption. Nitrite/nitrate is 0 same for ammonia ph is around 7.6. Any information, suggestion or general idea as to what caused it or what it is would be greatly appreciated! 1458CE97-DBB0-4980-A83D-63D3988E3DB2.jpeg7AA8B737-D8DD-4C2D-825F-D1E2B127900A.jpeg592F5B1D-DA50-485A-9E89-911716F98581.jpeg

I don’t see anything wrong. I see what you mean by the tiny dots but I don’t think it’s anything to worry about but I could be wrong and there could maybe be an internal parasite or fungus causing not completely sure maybe kno4te kno4te will know more but IMO I don’t think it’s anything to worry about

Are they open pits or is it just the coloration?
It looks just like more color coming through, but let’s see what the disease and flowerhorn experts have to say.

But the more I studied him I also think it’s colouration which is why I’m thinking damaged pigment from enhancing food? But maybe I’m over thinking it. It almost looks like a copper colour. The weird part is that it’s even taking over the black spot on his tail at this stage. At the top fin a small part looks almost transparent, which is a bit alarming. Thank you for the quick replies. I’ll try to upload more pictures

If someone with more knowledge can identify it I’d great appreciate it. Also thank you for the replies so far. Always great to hear it might not be anything serious.

Dont know much about fh’s but I’d keep the water clean for sure and verify if it’s a color issue or true some superficial ulcers/wounds. Can net the fish and touch the areas to see if it’s an actual break in the skin.
