Well my flowerhorn just looks at it like "WTF" because he's 2 years old, and this is about the size of food that rams could eat.

Could I feed it to the africans in my 55? They like it, but I didn't want to feed too much because it is high in protein (46%). But peacocks aren't herbivores so it couldn't be too bad maybe as just a treat.

Any input?

Its OSI flowerhorn food from drfosterandsmith.com.

alright, I wouldn't feed it to tropheous becasue of the high protein, but I wasn't sure if it worked the same way with the peacocks. But everything I see says that they are omnivorous.

Thanks will keep using it.

i say keep it in small proportions

..Tropheus? Peacocks? Eating? Omnivores?

No, yes, yes and yes.

I just worry because some africans can get bloat easily from heavily meaty food (food high in protein, amino acids, etc.). I wasn't exactly sure if that would be as common in peacocks as some other species. They are somewhat piscivorous though, correct? Not as much as a haplochromine, but they have the same sort of build that makes me think they look like they could eat fish from time to time.

they feed on things that are in the sand in the wild... since most home tanks do not have these things they can benefit from a little higher protein than mbuna or tropheus do...
