I have a flowerhorn, I try to grow its head to become bigger. I used Summo but it does not work. it is only 45% protein. what can I do? what kinds of food do I need for my flowerhorn? any advices
:confused::confused::confused:

We're new to having a flowerhorn, but from what I have read, a lot more has to do with genetics than the food (assuming you are feeding a quality food w/ the right analysis). I had just recently asked on another thread what foods are recommended and got a couple answers... currently, we're just feeding OSI's flowerhorn pellets (what the shop recommended) and occassionally some flakes and bloodworms. Only had ours a week so clearly, I'm NO expert. However, I can see nice changes in him already.

Food is only 10% of the deal... FH food is not miracle grow. If the genetics dont exsist, no head can be produced. However you will have a strong fish. LOL

Most of it is genetics. Another portion is being patient! You see a number of posts saying "look at this growth over night!", which is not the norm. Keep up what ever you are doing and give treats of something high in protein a few times a week. Bloodworms are a good idea and i personally use a lot of krill and mysis shrimp.
