Along with Hikari, mine gets freeze dried shrimp...seems to work. Hump will depend on where your fish came from. Parents with big humps does not always pass on to offsprings. If you have one with potential water kok, keeping good water conditions will definitely help.
Feeders are not a good idea unless you've quarantine them & certain they cannot harm your fh due to parasites. Starve your fh for a few days & it'll eventually eat. When they get hungry enough, they'll eat just about anything.
Sometimes colors will look less bright if the flowerhorn is feeling stressed from something in the water parameters changing or starting to become sick. Stop feeding him feeder fish immediately and never feed those to him again. Use a quality pellet like Hikari Bio Gold Plus or JBL Novo Flowermaxi. Hikari Blood Red Parrot food is available at most pet shops or online and that is a great food for bringing out red and keeping your flower horns stomach in good working order.
