Well they are all doing well...eating and growing... some are really starting to get red in theirfins and bellies.

They should be ready to go to new homes in about 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for looking

hey,
as a felllow breeder who hatces flowerhorns every 2 weeks i advice you seriously grow your fish out. if sold at this size quality is impposible to tell, and you could be floodin the flowerhorn market with crappy grade flowerhorns which is why their prices are sky high to begin with.
at 3-4 inches you should be able to tell if the fish will devolop kok and what colors they will retain
also insted of getting 5 bucks a 1inch fish u could get 200 or even more a 4 inch fish depending on quailty,
only down side is out of 300 hatched babies maybe 20 of them will be decent and you will have to kill the rest. jumst my opinion. nice fry, but i think they won't be ready for another 3 months.

They have been culled to this point (there are appox 40 left), and I will continue to cull them until they are ready to go.

Not everyone can afford a $200.00 flowerhorn as a showpiece. Some people enjoy having a flowerhorn as a "pet fish" so they get the pet fish quality. When they are younger there is a better chance of them being able to be raised in a CA Cichlid tank with tankmates.

My pair doesn't breed every two weeks, the fry are left with them for four to six weeks. If they did breed that often I would definetly seperate them.

I appreciate your opinion and they way you raise your fry, just wanted to shoot my opinion back :)

i agree 200 bucks is way to high.
i hate dishing out that much and more somtimes.
my freinds and family make fun of me and don't under stand why i pay that much, and think the peopel are frikin nutz when they give me money for fish lol
but thats why i was sayin it to help lower prices.
obviosly since ur culling u know what the flowerhorn world is about though , i thought u were just gonna get rid of all of the fish. sorry if i came across disrespectful. i usualy wait longer for my first cull so when i saw ur pics i assumed u didn't cull <im an idiot>. i got 2 main pairs , thats why i breed so often. somtimes i use whole spawns for feeder fish bc of space issues. so be happy u have one pair lol gl and keep some at least to update!@!!
theres nothing i enjoy more then watch update pictures of a fry turning into a master piece

I have seven fh's right now and have had fry from all my 4 females and 3males...All but 2 spawns have been feeders.

I will just be keeping the one pair, they make such good looking fry.

I have one small one picked out already that I will be keeping.

BTW where in Pa. are you? I grew up in the Lancaster area.
