i was wondering if my flowerhorn frys are ok. its going up and down the tank for hrs. i thought it was hungry so i try feeding it but only a after they eat they go right back to the same thing. is it happy? or is something wrong with it. opinions appreciated.:popcorn:

You need to check all of your water parameters.....When fish do this it is usually because they are new to the tank and are figuring out their surroundings......or they are uncomfortable with their tank mates and are actuallly trying to swim away.....or the water is not right (Nitrates, Ph) and the fish is actually trying to get out of that enviroment. Check and let me know....

i was setting up my 60 and i was switching between 2 tanks. the water level is perfect. now my flowerhorns just floating on top of the water. its still active and alive but maybe the water is a bit cold its next to the heater.

haha nvm. the fish was interested in the red light that comes on from the heater. thanks for the help

hmm.. swims up and down maybe due to tank enviornment.. PH balance.. or mates.. i have no mates.. each of my fh's are around 2.5-3inches long in 30gal tanks ( meaning they are both in their own 30gal tank just in case you didnt get that) and just gravel and some deco.. so yea.. i should check my ph balance.. =/.. hopefully that'll help them.. thanks for asking this question.. and thanks to the responders for the info ^_^

my fh's are in a 60 gallon. maybe i should do a water 50 percent water change. see if that helps.

that's normal, same thing happen to my fish, every time i switch them to new tanks they always do the same thing, nothing to be afraid of,except if they stop eating :).
