today is day 12 my boy has not eaten.. he will not eat ANYTHING at all.. I have tried to give him different food, shelled frozen peas, nothing.. tried feeding him bloodworms, shrimp and Beefheart through a syringe, nothing.. as soon as anything gets into his mouth he immediately blows it back out.. he also leans to the right side.. his swim bladder is not broken because he will swim from one end of tank (usually at night) or he will come up from the bottom to the top when I go to the tank.. mouth does not appear injured from what I can see.. no white poop..
'I have done a water change of 40% and changed filter 12 days ago.. I then added epsom salt in like 6 days later.. did a 30% change day before yesterday.. temp is at about 82.. nothing in there besides him and pleco.. pleco appears fine.. does not appear bloated at all, if anything he is getting very thin, KOK is also starting to shrink on both sides.. he will be 2 in Sept.. the thought of losing Frankie kills me..
if anyone can help I would be very grateful.. I love this boy very much..

Been thru what you're experiencing. Usually a sign of internal parasites. I've tried just about everything...including force-feeding food & meds. Very sad to see them go...slowly and you're at a loss cuz you wanna do everything you can. Hopefully it can pull out of it.

I used to give frozen bloodworms as treats but now only pellets or freeze dried worms & shrimp. Will never take a chance on feeders & frozen bloodworms again...no matter how much they love the stuff.

I have a few questions, why change filters? and where these new not cycled filters?

do you know what your water perams are. Tested with a kit such as a API Master Fresh Water Test Kit?

tank size and fish in the tank not counting the fish in question.

Other folks will pipe up to help but these are questions they are going to need answered.

i changed filters because they had not been changed in about 5-6 months.. only rinsed when doing water changes.. I have never cycled filters except when I first got him.. I always just rinsed them very very well and put them in.. have done water test the only thing that seemed a lil different in color was the nitrate no 1.. pet store said that it wasnt anything out of ordinary and that the dechlor or start rite would help bring that were supposed to be.. he is in 75 gallon and nothing else with him besides a pleco about 6 -7 inches long.. I have noticed that one of the pleco's right fins is a little messed up possibly from when flowerhorn would chase him when he was feeling better... BUT I was just spending time at the tank talking to Frankie(my fish) and the stupid pleco tried to latch itself to him like he was sucking on him !! I got him off and turned around to let my dogs in the house and he was on him again when I came back.. he drew blood spot on him.. I have taken him completely out of the tank so just Frankie is in there alone..

you rinse your filters in tap water?

and not looking to offend, do you know about a cycled filter and the nitrogen cycle?

what are your water perams running at now? ammonia, nitrite, nitrate?

as for treating your fish, I would do a 90 percent water change, dose the tank with prime or safe for size of tank, not water replacing, then dose the tank with a coarse of metroplex and 2 baths a day of methylene blue.

metroplex will not hurt your bio filter and can not be over dosed. methylene will so is used as a bath. 30 min in, be aware will stain any porous surfaces, this includes rugs or grout and your hands.
